“Exit” by Anupama Kadwad

I force myself to open the closed lids

To catch a glimpse of my surroundings

Try my utmost to overcome the lethargy

Shake myself free of the stupor

Tiredness which has caught me

Hazy feeling restricting the movements

Partially functioning brain losing control

Hushed voices, whispering staccato of the beep in line within the heart beats

Finally the calmness when I fall into the abyss.
