“Seasons of Earth” by Manisha Manhas

the dust storms whine
against the window
as cherry dreams
slide inside.
Searching a marigold,
a child’s eyes bob to
the tunes of  morning
as do butterflies rise from
chrysanthemum jars.
And so does the coup
surging from a young
girl’s diary becomes
bubbles to be sprayed over
the clavicles of earth,
titillating her varied
musk tinted seasons.
