“So Many Ways to Live” by Victoria Woolf Bailey

When that moment arrives
(by car, by bus, by daybreak)

We live in it like a house
(condo, apartment, tent down by the river)

Imagining we may see it all again
(later, someday, when the kids are grown)

This moment existing in time
(minutes, hours, the second you were born)

Place
(here, there, the house where you used to live)

On a planet hurling itself through space
(emptiness, brilliant with stars, galaxies)

With us holding on for our very lives
(bored, tired, paying close attention)

to each (spectacular) moment
